CCHA Rookie & Mite Camp Details
The Rookie & Mite Camps are designed to introduce hockey to those with beginner to advanced skating experience. The Camp works on basic skating (forward and backward), skating with the puck, shooting the puck, fun drills and games and most importantly, overall skating confidence. We tailor the camp into 3 groups (Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced) and work on specific fundamentals designed for each of these groups.

The CCHA Rookie & Mite Camps are open to Boys and Girls ages 4 – 7 that are residents of district 112 boundaries (typically: Chaska, Chanhassen, Carver, Victoria, East Union). See below for detailed birthdates and camp guidelines.

Generally the Rookie & Mite Camp is comprised of Kindergarten, pre-school and pre-pre-school age boys and girls.

Interested in being an On-Ice Helper/Coach for the Rookie & Mite Camp?

We rely on on-ice volunteers to help make the Rookie & Mite Camp run smoothly. If you are able to stand on your skates, can smile, encourage kids and be patient; then please come out on the ice! All you need are your skates, helmet and a stick.

Contact Brian Charchenko at rookiecamp@cchockey.org for questions or more details. Also, when registering your child, check the box and fill out the section for On-Ice Helpers/Coaches.

NOTE: Rookie & Mite Camp On-Ice Helpers/Coaching is separate from the upper level coaching Application and Registration Process found under the Coaches Section of the CCHOCKEY.ORG website. Rookie & Mite Camp On-Ice Helpers/Coaches only need to fill out the information on their players Registration form and/or contact the Camp Director. Additionally, Rookie & Mite Camp On-ice Helpers/Coaches do not need to be USA Hockey Certified; however, you will be required to fill out the Minnesota Hockey Criminal Background Forms.
