CCHA Youth Hockey Move Up Policy

1.        Definition-the term moving up refers to a player playing up from his/her Minnesota Hockey age group.

2.       Requests to move up must be submitted in writing to the HDC

3.       The decision to allow a player to play for an up team will be made by the HDC after coordination with the player's parents and the coaches at the levels involved.

4.       Factors to be considered are:

a.       Players moving up should be elite or advanced

b.      The best interests of the program

i.                     How does it affect numbers in each age group?

c.       The decision is in the best interests of the player.

i.                     Is the player not being challenged at current level?

ii.                   Is the player mature enough physically and mentally to fraternize with older players?

 **Note-The request to move from your assigned MN hockey group to another must be made in writing to the HDC prior to September 1^st.  Please note that this is only a request and requests must be approved by the HDC in conjunction with the coaches involved.  Moves made after Sep. 1^st will only be done in extremely special circumstances by the HDC.

 

AGAIN THIS YEAR - You will now register and pay for your USA Hockey membership at www.usahockey.com, rather than through your local association (CCHA). Since CCHA will no longer be processing and paying your USA Hockey registration on your behalf, your CCHA fees have been reduced to reflect this.

 

Membership in USA Hockey has always been mandatory for all youth players in Minnesota. The fee is $30 for USA Hockey membership, plus $10 for Minnesota Hockey membership, for a total of $40. Note that this fee is waived for players age 6 and younger (birthyear 2005 or later). So please go to www.usahockey.com and click on Membership to complete your registration. If your player is age 6 and younger, the fee will be waived at checkout, for all others you will need a credit card to complete the transaction.

 

 

At this point our accounting system from last year is not integrated with our new website. So to use your credit balance from last year please follow these steps:

1) Register your player but do not pay.

2) To pay by credit card, return to the website and click on 'Online Payments'

3) Calculate the amount you owe, deduct your credit balance, and pay that amount.

4) To pay by check, mail your check for the reduced amount to CCHA, PO Box 1006, Chanhassen, MN 55317.

5) If you do not know your credit balance, email accountant@cchockey.org before beginning your registration to receive a statement.
