Financial Aid Policy

CHASKA CHANHASSEN HOCKEY ASSOCIATION FINANCIAL SCHOLARSHIP POLICY
Adopted 8/2022

Each year, the Chaska Chanhassen Hockey Association offers Financial Scholarships to those families in need of financial assistance. When the annual budget is set, a predetermined amount is set‐aside for annual Scholarship Assistance, these funds include an amount as determined by the board. The total amount granted will not exceed 50% of the base registration fees except in extreme hardship situations.

CCHA Financial Scholarship Policy:

  1. All families requesting a Financial Scholarship must complete the Financial Aid Application on the CCHA website by the designated due date. Incomplete applications will be returned.
  2. All players who meet the eligibility requirements to play in CCHA are eligible to apply for financial assistance.
  3. As part of its annual budget, CCHA will determine a dollar amount that will be set aside as a Scholarship Assistance Fund. The total amount of Assistance awarded to all families cannot exceed the amount budgeted.
  4. Scholarship Assistance is designed to help families get through periods of financial stress. It is not to be designated as an annual subsidy, and, unless an exception is approved by the current Executive Committee, is limited to two years per player. The policy does not cover any team assessments. Preference will be given to those applicants whose families qualify for public assistance programs such as lunch subsidies, food stamps, or aid for dependent children.
  5. Scholarship Assistance will be provided to cover CCHA base registration fees only and are granted on a per season basis. Applicants must reapply each season.
  6. All Scholarship Applications must be submitted by the dates listed on the Financial Aid Application dependent on player’s level.
  7. Families receiving scholarships are not permitted to “buy‐out” their volunteer hours.
  8. Financial Assistance is provided at the sole discretion of the Executive Committee of CCHA.
  9. All Information is kept confidential. The Executive Committee reserves the right to request additional information at the time the scholarship is considered. All decisions by CCHA regarding scholarships are final, and there is no appeal process.
