Returning CCHA Players:
New Players to CCHA:
Every year each player MUST register with USA Hockey prior to registering with CCHA. This is a separate fee. Membership in USA Hockey has always been mandatory for all youth players in Minnesota. Please visit https://membership.usahockey.com/ to register or click the link at the start of CCHA registration. The USA Hockey Confirmation Number is required to begin CCHA registration.
If this is your first time registering a player. Please enter your player's legal name as it appears on their birth certificate. You will also need to upload your player's birth certificate during registration.
Please note, your address entered for CCHA Registration must match the address used for your USA Hockey Registration. If your addresses do not match and your USA Hockey Address is outside of ISD 112 Attendance Boundaries, your player will need a waiver to play for CCHA. If you have questions please contact the CCHA Registrar at registrar@cchockey.org.

CCHA’s goal is to keep Registration Fees consistent from year to year. CCHA is a large growing hockey association with over 800 players. Because of CCHA’s size and continued growth, CCHA must buy additional ice from other facilities. CCHA works with our partners and vendors to keep costs down, however, pricing increases can be out of our control.
Costs associated with registration fees include: | |
---|---|
Practice and District Game Ice Time | Travel Imitational Tournament Registration Fees |
District 6 Fees | District 6 Referee Fees (home games) |
Coach Certification Fees | USAH Coaching Reimbursement |
Non-Parent Coach Expense Reimbursement | Credit Card Processing Fees |
Stipends / Independent Contractors | Legal/Professional Fees |
Equipment, Pucks, First Aid Kits and Supplies | General Administration Expenses and Supplies |
Scholarships | Website Fees |
Finance Fees (Banking, Software, etc.) | Annual Audit and Tax Return Preparation |
Storage Locker Rental Fees | Jerseys and Socks |
Annual CCHA Raffle Fee |
Top Team Try-Out
Upper-Level Players can elect to try-out for the top team at their level. A $50 fee will be assessed during the registration process.
Player Age Classification
Players will default to the age classification in which their birth date falls. Moving down to a younger age range is not allowed. However, moving up to an older age classification is allowed if the player has a summer birthday making him/her younger than the cutoff date, but who is in the School Grade aligned with that older range.
For more information visit the age classification webpage
Players with Balance Due
Any player that has a balance due from a previous season will not be allowed to register, participate in pre-skates, try-outs or any other current season activity until the balance is paid in full. Please contact the CCHA Treasurer, treasurer@cchockey.org to discuss payment options.
Players with Credit Balance
If you played with CCHA in a previous season and have a credit on your account, you can use all or a portion of that credit balance to offset fees when you register. You will know if you have a credit balance if your recent player statement reflected a negative number. If applicable, the CCHA 2023-2024 Discount Code list was sent with your player statement. NOTE: This code will be entered at checkout.
Payment Method
Registration payment must be made via credit, debit or checking account through the online registration process.

Volunteers are greatly needed to make a hockey association run, and without volunteers contributing many hours, CCHA could simply not exist.
Volunteer Hour Requirements:
Jr. Gold & Rookie Mites: 0 hours
For families with more than one player participating in the CCHA: Each family will be required to complete the number of hours associated with their oldest child’s level. The maximum number of volunteer hours required by any family is 12 Volunteer Hours.
** Lower-Level families: The required concession stand shift goes toward your required hours, not to be completed in addition to.
Volunteer Checks:
Each family is required to submit a volunteer deposit in the amount of $500/player. You may buy-out the Volunteer hour requirement for $500/player or a maximum $1000 per family.
A volunteer check is required to be on file for all levels prior to tryout/evaluations. A player without a volunteer check on file WILL NOT be allowed to participate in ANY tryout/evaluation session. NO EXCEPTION WILL BE MADE.
BRING YOUR VOLUNTEER CHECK TO THE FIRST TRY-OUT SESSION. DO NOT MAIL TO CCHA.
More Volunteer Info:
Please read CCHA’s Volunteer Policy. If you have questions on CCHA’s Volunteer Policy, please contact the CCHA Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer.coordinator@cchockey.org
If you are not an ISD 112 resident but are open enrolled or attending a private school located within the ISD 112 school district, a waiver is required to play with CCHA. To start the waiver process, please contact the association for the school district where you reside.
If you are an ISD 112 resident but are open enrolled or attending a private school outside of the ISD 112 school district, a waiver is required to release you to play with another association. To start the waiver process, please read the CCHA Waiver Information page for more information.
Note: Upper Level Youth players who are waiving into CCHA on a school waiver, but have not attended an ISD 112 school for 12 months are not eligible to tryout for the top team. The only exception, per MN Hockey, is for players enrolling in 9th Grade for the first time, they are immediately eligible to compete at any division in their Association of School Attendance (i.e. CCHA).
If you are not a United States citizen, you must obtain a Youth Transfer Player form which can be found on the USA Hockey website.
Please contact the CCHA Registrar, registrar@cchockey.org or the CCHA President, president@cchockey.org, if you have questions about your eligibility or the waiver process.
