Team Volunteer Information

Thank you for taking on a role as a Team Volunteer or Locker Room Monitor. Whether you are a Team Manager, Scrimmage Manager, Team Treasurer or Videographer, your role is a necessary part of keeping the team organized and competitive and we appreciate you volunteering.

Below you will find the steps that all volunteers need to complete. After those are completed, please click on the appropriate tab for additional steps and information you will need to move forward in your roles.

Please complete all requirements well ahead of the due dates.

The first team volunteer meeting will be October 23, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at the Chaska Community Center in the wet craft room. 

Any volunteer not registered will forfeit their Volunteer Hours.

If you are managing more than 1 team, you do not need to re-register with USA Hockey or do a second background check & SafeSport training (as long as they are current) just register the 2nd team in the Team Volunteer Registration.

Step 1 - Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey

  • Register with USA Hockey as an Ice Manager/Volunteer if you need to complete SafeSport.  
  • All team volunteers and locker room monitors must register as a volunteer with USA Hockey.
  • Volunteer registrations are FREE.
  • Due date:  Within 4 days of volunteering

Step 2 - Background Screening

  • Complete your background screening online. 
  • Association = Chaska/Chanhassen
  • District= 6 
  • For members who were last screened after April 1, 2019, for the 2019-20 season, their screens will be valid for the 2020-21 season, and will not need to be screened under the new system until prior to the 2021-22 season.
  • All team volunteers and locker room monitors must complete a background check
  • Due date:  Within 4 days of volunteering
  • PLEASE NOTE: You can find out when you did your last background check by logging into SportsEngine, click on the down arrow next to your username at the top of the page, click Account Setting and click on "Registrations." Scroll through this list to find the Background checks and the dates associated with them. 

Step 3 - Team Volunteer Registration 

  • Register yourself as indicated in the registration.
    • Create a profile for yourself under your family's SportEngine account before registering.
    • When you log in, if it doesn't show your name then "Register a new person".
    • All team volunteers and locker room monitors must complete the team volunteer registration. 
    • Complete Team Volunteer Registration using the link below.

Step 4 - Safesport Video Training 

  • You must complete Safesport Training if you have never done so previously.
  • SafeSport is required for all team volunteers and locker room monitors. 
  • The SafeSport Training and Refresher Training are each valid for two (2) seasons.  Thus, if you took the training during the 2018-19 season, it is valid for the 2018-19 and 2019-20 seasons.
  • As of January 1, 2018, all relevant individuals who need to be SafeSport certified or are seeking recertification will need to complete the new three-course SafeSport training, which features updated content. 
  • Upon completion of the online SafeSport training, individuals will be certified for two seasons. A new SafeSport refresher course will eventually be added to the platform. This will be an abbreviated version intended for individuals who have previously completed the three core SafeSport courses and need to recertify. Users completing the SafeSport refresher course will be certified for an additional two seasons.
  • PLEASE NOTE: You will need your own USA Hockey Confirmation Number and your own email address to access the training. Click on the link to the right to begin.

CCHA Ice Exchange

This spreadsheet has been created so that teams can post ice that they can't use.  We ask that ONLY head coaches and/or team managers fill out the information.  You will need the email address of who is posting the available ice to complete the post.


  1. Ice claimed from exchange WILL BE charged to receiving team.
  2. Once ice is confirmed and rescheduled by Ice Coordinator, financial adjustments to team account will occur.
  3. When ice is claimed by team, please email with a cc: to the selling team's coach/manager identified in table
  4. Disputes will be reconciled by CCHA Ice Coordinator and will be final

*If you are picking up EXTRA ice, then please talk with your FULL team first as this will ADD cost to your season's fees.

CCHA 2019-20 Ice Exchange

This document is for Coaches to use to exchange ice times for the season. All instructions are on the sheet and MUST be followed to exchange ice.
