Team Volunteer Information

Thank you for taking on a role as a Team Volunteer or Locker Room Monitor!

Whether you are a Team Manager, Team Treasurer / Scrimmage Manager, or Videographer, your role is a necessary part of keeping the team organized and competitive and we appreciate you volunteering.

Below you will find the steps that all volunteers need to complete. Please complete all requirements by the due dates noted.

Volunteer meetings will be held by level to make it easier to help facilitate conversations for any questions or concerns. Once the volunteers for each team have been identified, a communication will be sent out with the dates and times of each meeting.

Any volunteer not registered will forfeit their Volunteer Hours.

If you have questions or need assistance:

All TEAM VOLUNTEERS AND LOCKER ROOM MONITORS MUST REGISTER

If you are managing more than 1 team, you do not need to re-register with USA Hockey or do a second background check & SafeSport training (as long as they are current) just register the 2nd team in the Team Volunteer Registration.

Step 1 - Register as a volunteer with USA Hockey

  • Register with USA Hockey as an Ice Manager/Volunteer if you need to complete SafeSport.
  • All team volunteers and locker room monitors must register as a volunteer with USA Hockey.
  • Volunteer registrations are FREE.
  • Due date:  Within 4 days of volunteering

Step 2 - Background Screening

  • Association = Chaska/Chanhassen
  • District= 6

All team volunteers and locker room monitors must complete a background screening online through SportsEngine at least 4 days prior to volunteering.

Background screenings are valid for two years, so if you have never completed a background screening, or you completed one prior to 2022, you will need to complete a new one for this season.

If you completed one in 2022 for the 22-23 season, you will not need to complete a new background screening until next year (2024-25).

But, When Did I Complete My Last Background Check? :
  • Log into SportsEngine
  • Click on the down arrow next to your username at the top of the page.
  • Click "Account Settings"
  • Click "Registrations"

  • Once you have completed the Core SafeSport Course, there will be a Refresher Course available for individuals who have previously completed the core SafeSport course and need to recertify. Users completing the SafeSport refresher course will be certified for an additional season.
