Girls 8U
8U STRUCTURE
In November & December, 8U teams can expect 2 weekend (1 Saturday and 1 Sunday) and 1 weeknight ice touch. These include shared ice practices with another 8U or 6U team and possible in house scrimmage/games.
District 6 half ice games may begin in December, at which point the weekend structure changes to 1 practice and 1 game. 8U teams participate in a tournament during the first half of the season.
In January through the end of the season in March, the 2 weekend and 1 weeknight ice touches continue. Practices will be shared ice with another 8U or 6U team. The 1 game/scrimmage will be in house or with other D6 teams. 8U teams will follow D6 limits regarding scheduling full ice games.
As weather permits, there is potential for an OPTIONAL 2nd weeknight practice outdoors. 8U teams will participate in a late winter Jamboree and the CCHA Hockey Hoopla in March.
