Description
The Team Videographer plays a key role in capturing the excitement and development of the season. This volunteer films each game, ensuring high-quality video for coach analysis and player review.
All Team Videographers must use their own recording device (camera, phone, or tablet), as equipment is not provided by CCHA.
Duties:
- Attend all games and film from a designated location
- Follow gameplay smoothly, keeping the puck in frame and zooming appropriately.
- Record all games using personal equipment.
- Save and upload footage promptly (within 24–48 hours)
- Upload to the team’s designated platform (e.g., LiveBarn, Hudl, Google Drive, or YouTube)
- Maintain organized video files labeled by date and opponent
Skills Needed
- Basic camera knowledge
- Reliable attendance
- Attention to detail and ability to follow the flow of play
There is not a specific platform that CCHA requires that you use to stream game film, but many of our videographers use things like:
- Youtube
- Hudl
- GameChanger
- SidelineHD
- Facebook, etc.
If a particular platform requires a subscription, it is up to the team to determine if they will fund that subscription through their team slush funds. CCHA does not pay for team streaming services.
Note
This role is not solely for live streaming. While broadcasting the game for family and friends is a nice perk, the primary purpose of this position is to provide coaches and players with game footage for development and review.
