MITE LEVELS
CCHA Mite Program is divided into 4 Levels:
Mite 1 - Kindergarten
Mite 2 - First Grade
Mite 3 & 4 - Second and Third Grades
Mite 3-4 Structure
Evaluations take place in October with regular season beginning early November.
In November & December, Mite 3-4 teams can expect 2 weekend (1 Saturday and 1 Sunday) and 1 weeknight ice touch. These include shared ice practices with another Mite team and possible in house scrimmage/games.
District 6 half ice games may begin in December, at which point the weekend structure changes to 1 practice and 1 game. Mite 3-4 teams participate in a tournament during the first half of the season.
In January through the end of the season in March, the 2 weekend and 1 weeknight ice touches continue. Practices will be shared ice with another Mite teams. The 1 game/scrimmage will be in house or with other D6 teams. Mite teams will follow D6 limits regarding scheduling full ice games.
Mite teams will participate in the CCHA Pond Hockey Tournament in late winter and the CCHA Hockey Hoopla in March.
As weather permits, there is potential for an OPTIONAL 2nd weeknight practice outdoors.
Mite 1-2 Structure

In November & December Mite 1-2 teams can expect 2 weekend ice touches (1 Saturday and 1 Sunday). These include half-ice practices with another Mite team and possible in house scrimmages/games. The CCHA Pond Hockey tournament is also held at the end of December.
January through the end of the season in March, the 2 weekend ice touches continue. The format changes to 1 half-ice practice with another Mite team and 1 game/scrimmage in house or with other D6 teams. There may also be 1 OPTIONAL weeknight outdoor practice as weather permits. Mite 1-2 teams will participate in a late winter Jamboree and the CCHA Hockey Hoopla in March.

Ages
Mites are players between Kindergarten and Third Grade.

Where
Practices will take place at Chaska Community Center or Victoria Rec Center.
Some away scrimmages in second half of the seasons take place at nearby community rinks.
Extra Costs
Beyond USA Hockey registration and season registration there are no additional association fees.
Teams will, at their own discretion, incur other costs such as coaches gifts. However, these are not required expenses.
Required Equipment
All players must have skates, stick, gloves, shin pads, elbow pads, breezers, pelvic protector, shoulder pads, helmet, mouthguard, and neck protector. Players without all required equipment will not be allowed on the ice.
