TEAM VOLUNTEER OVERVIEW
Thank you for volunteering to support our team! Whether you're a Team Manager, Treasurer/Scrimmage Manager, Videographer, or Locker Room Monitor, your role is crucial to ensuring the team remains organized and competitive. Below are the required steps to complete your volunteer registration and training. Please make sure to meet all due dates to ensure you’re properly registered.
STEP 1 - REGISTER AS A VOLUNTEER WITH USA HOCKEY
- Action: Register with USA Hockey as a volunteer (Ice Manager, Locker Room Monitor, or similar roles).
- Requirement: All team volunteers and locker room monitors must register with USA Hockey.
- Cost: Registration is FREE.
- Due Date: Complete this within 4 days of volunteering.
Step 2 - Background Screening
- Action: Complete the background screening through USA Hockey.
- Association: Chaska/Chanhassen
- District: 6
- CCHA Organization ID: 35615801
- Requirement: All team managers, videographers, treasurer/scrimmage managers, and locker room monitors need to complete a background screening before volunteering.
- Cost: $30
- Validity: Screenings are valid for 2 years, so if you've done it recently, you may not need to do it again.
- Due Date: Complete this at least 4 days prior to volunteering.
STEP 3 - SAFESPORT VIDEO TRAINING
- Action: Complete the SafeSport training.
- Core SafeSport Training: For new volunteers or first-time certification.
- SafeSport Refresher: For recertification if you've completed the core training in a previous season.
- Validity: Each course is valid for one season.
- Due Date: Complete before volunteering begins.
Important Notes:
- You will need your USA Hockey Confirmation Number and a unique email address to access the training.
- Once completed, you’ll receive certification for the season.
STEP 4 - TEAM VOLUNTEER REGISTRATION WITH CCHA
- Action: Complete the team volunteer registration with CCHA.
- Requirement: You must create a profile under your family’s Crossbar account to register as a team volunteer.
- Pre-Requisite: Ensure that you have completed all previous steps (USA Hockey registration, SafeSport training, and background screening) before registering as a team volunteer.
Please Note: If any volunteer does not complete the registration process, they will forfeit their volunteer hours for the season.
Volunteer Meetings:
- Volunteers will be split by team level to facilitate discussions. You’ll receive communication about meeting dates and times after volunteer roles have been assigned.
